If you are broke, there is no need to resort to boot polish which I heard that some women actually used. That stuff could blind you or at least cause enough damage if you get it into your eyes. Instead, go for budget mascaras like maybelline mascara and loreal mascara.

How to apply mascara

After you are done with the rest of your eye makeup, then apply mascara on your lashes.

1. Pump the mascara wand in the tube. Pull it out and wipe off the excess on a clean tissue paper.
2. Hold the mascara wand parallel to your lashes (the brush is horizontal).
3. Apply mascara with the wand from the base of your upper lashes all the way to the tips in one stroke for each section.
4. Hold the mascara wand vertically and apply on lower lashes.
5. Take a clean, dry mascara wand and go through the lashes again to separate them before the mascara dries to prevent clumping.
6. Once the mascara is dry, repeat for a second coat.

If you want a really natural look, go for clear mascara. It defines the lashes without making you look like you are wearing false eye lashes. These work if your lashes are already dark and long enough. If not, a basic black, or dark brown mascara would be a better bet.

If you want dramatic eye makeup, all you may need might be a purple mascara or an electric blue mascara. These are perfect for parties, or when you just want to look stunning and to turn heads.
