How To Wear Eyeshadow

An eyeshadow is the basis of eye makeup. You might argue that a mascara is a must. Especially if your lashes are pale and you need mascara to define your eyes, but not every girl wears mascara. Sometimes, false eyelashes are all you need. Most girls just need a touch of shadow to define the eyes.

Eyeshadows can be used many ways. With a wet liner brush, you can use a dark eyeshadow as an eye liner for softer, more natural definition.

1. Dip the eye liner brush in water
2. Pick up eye shadow with that eyeliner brush
3. Line your upper and lower lash lines with the wet eyeshadow

Water increases the intensity of the eyeshadow color, so for a deeper or richer color, you could use a wet brush to get a more striking effect.

Before modern makeup, a famous starlet got her signature smoky eyes with burnt cork and vaseline. She'd burn a cork and mix the ashes with vaseline. Then she'd apply the glossy mixture as a liner and smudgy eyeshadow for her signature sultry look.

Now you can simply get that look without the ashes. Try black eyeshadow with vaseline instead.
