How To Treat Eczema

Eczema is a hereditary condition. If either parent has it, the children are likely to get it too. It can be rather troublesome to live with. Itchy skin. Scaly skin. Fussy skin that cannot use the cheaper soaps and creams that the rest of the family might use.

My husband and kids have eczema. I remember that both kids, as babies, had to use rather expensive, natural bath products. Something like powdered milk delicately scented. They loved it.

Later, I would bathe them in milk and honey, with a drop or two of pure mandarin or lavender essential oil. Baths were a very expensive necessity. Thankfully, they have outgrown their eczema. They still ask for the milk bath though but I turn them down, telling it is expensive, and on a as needed basis.

Now, there are lots more affordable products to deal with eczema. The dry, scaly skin that characterizes eczema needs a lot of good moisturizer. Cleansing requires a gentle soap or body wash for sensitive skin. All these can come to a lot of money.
